About Community Partners Initiative

Community Partners Initiative (CPI) is a nonprofit organization providing data and management services.  CPI draws upon more than 40 years of experience in school leadership, project management, and back office systems and support. Our approach is guided by what we have learned from managing several accredited educational programs, including public schools, school-age programs, and early childhood centers.

Among our successful ventures is the Community Day Charter Public School (CDCPS), which primarily serves a low-income Hispanic population in the mill city of Lawrence, Massachusetts. CDCPS was recently highlighted at the 2009 National Charter Schools Conference as one of the highest-performing charter schools in the nation. Community Day's successes include:

  • In 2008, ranked 1st  in English (Grade 7 students) and 2nd in Math (Grade 6 students) of all Massachusetts middle schools on the state test.

  • In 2007, ranked 2nd in Math and 3rd in Science of all Massachusetts middle schools on the state test (Grade 8 students); Grade 8 Low Income students ranked 1st in Science of all Massachusetts middle schools.

  • Selected, as 1 of 5 schools, to participate in a federally-funded research project with the Harvard Graduate School of Education highlighting high-performing urban charter schools.

  • Recognized as an Effective Practice Incentive Community (EPIC) school (2008 and 2009) by New Leaders for New Schools. EPIC recognizes schools for their student achievement gains and awards educators for sharing their effective practices.

Since our founding in 2004, we have partnered with over 50 charter schools, charter networks, districts, and charter support organizations to provide data and management services.
