Turning Data Into Action
CPI provides schools with customized,
user-friendly MCAS data reports specifically
designed for each participating teacher and
administrator. The reports can be combined with
professional development to maximize the
effective use of the data by educators. By
customizing our work to the school's specific needs, we empower administrators and
teachers to turn data into action.
We offer a variety of MCAS
Data packages to meet the needs of each school.

Partnership for Online
Professional Development
Under a grant from the Massachusetts Department of
Education, Community Partners Initiative will
collaborate with Community Day Charter Public
School to develop and implement an online
course. The course, called Building a Number
Sense Toolkit: Using Data to Understand, Teach,
and Assess Number Sense Standards, will focus on
understanding what the MCF Number Sense mean,
planning effective ways to teach the standards,
and accurately gauging whether their students have
mastered them. In addition, the project will
include a facilitation training component, which
will prepare teachers who participate in the
course to implement online courses on various
topics.
Check back in August to
learn how you can participate in this free course!
Keeping the Promise: The
Massachusetts Charter School Dissemination and
Replication Project
Drawing on our experience with identifying best
practices, training, and dissemination, CPI is
helping to facilitate an exciting project
showcasing high-quality urban charter schools in
Massachusetts. For more information about the
project, click here: Dissemination
Project.
Data-Informed Instruction Project
Through a generous grant, CPI has partnered
with several urban public schools to help them
build capacity to increase student achievement.
We have provided each school with detailed MCAS
data, ongoing professional development, and
ongoing support with the use of data.
Partner Schools include:
Atlantis Charter School
Conservatory Lab Charter School
Prospect Hill Academy Charter School
Smith Leadership Charter Public School
New Partner schools:
New Leadership Charter School
Seven Hills Charter Public School
Here's what they have to say:
"The
presenters are tuned into the needs of the
faculty and tune into the questions that are
asked"
"I
found this workshop with my disciplinary team most
helpful. I liked narrowing the topic down to
specific areas and students."
"Thank
you for making MCAS somewhat more fun!"
"This
information is extremely helpful and
user-friendly!"
"This
was so excellent to have time to really
process (with your expert guidance) all this
information and think about instruction."
Project
for After-School
Learning (in development)
CPI's Project for
After-School Learning (PAL) is a hands-on,
standards-based after-school curriculum designed
to improve students' academic achievement through
experiences not typically offered in the
classroom. We believe that when students engage in
projects that require them to apply critical
knowledge and skills in new ways, within an
environment that captures their interest, their
academic performance will benefit. The
program is currently in pilot phase; check back
for updates about results and availability.
